Spirituality is circular, cyclical, it moves and flows with the elements around it, in relation, in conversation. It pulls from the ether and roots to the earth. It is in motion, its motion cannot be anticipated. It is intuited, it is felt, it is in tandem, it is held. It winks and seals itself into time, across time, beneath time. It is ticklish, it sings, it carries, it floats. It is enlivening, it is alive. It is details. It is colors and stories. It is childhood and pre-childhood, adulthood and post-adulthood. It lives in the everyday, the earthly object, the bodily vessel.

Digitality is eyes. It is seeing an object, world, screen. It fragments or “disappears” the body. It is dissociation. It is glass. It is polish. It is future. It is anything and everything. High speed, manic. If digital is an –ality, then where is its gesture? Can it be felt in the blood of a failing chest? Does it flicker and dim with the soft burn of slow-time? Immortal and placeless, sight fascinator—it is less of a movement and more of an “it.” All surface, all sheen. Slippery to touch, with no body beneath its skin.

Spirituality and Digitality both trace along the ethereal, but in very different ways. Spirituality is born from, haunts, and transcends the body. Body of self, of place, of atmosphere. Digitality is a black box. It is born in “the cloud” and stays in “the cloud.”
